About us

The PALM academy was founded to provide a scientifically grounded platform for advanced training in the PALM model system. It emerged from long-standing experience in academic research, university teaching, and international collaboration within the meteorology community. The academy reflects the need for structured, high-quality training formats that complement traditional university courses and research projects.

Our work is guided by three principles: scientific rigor, transparency, and practical relevance. We aim to support researchers and practitioners in developing a deep understanding of model physics, numerical methods, and responsible scientific application.

Academic background

We are embedded in an active research environment. Our activities are closely connected to ongoing scientific work in atmospheric research.

Research-Based Teaching

All courses are informed by current research practice. Our experience in model development, simulation studies, and academic supervision shapes the structure and depth of the learning formats.

Scientific Community

We see modeling as a collaborative scientific effort. We aim to foster exchange between researchers, doctoral candidates, and practitioners working with the PALM model system.
