We are a specialized academy offering structured training in the PALM model system — from introductory foundations to advanced applications. Our portfolio includes self-paced online courses for future PALM users as well as hands-on, on-site workshops on specialized topics for experienced PALM users and developers.

Academy Structure
Introduction to Environmental Flow Modeling (coming in 2027)
You can start with an optional online course that teaches you the basics of environmental modeling in atmospheric science and equips you with all that is needed to participate the course program.
PALM Installation Guide
Get started with PALM! The installation manual guides you through the installation of the PALM model system on your local machine.
PALM Foundation Course
Make your first steps with PALM and learn how to use the model, analyze model output data, and create your first own set-ups. After completion of the course, you will receive the PALM Level 1 Certificate.
PALM Special Topic Workshops
Learn about PALM's embedded models and modules for various applications, from urban microscale simulations, land-atmosphere-feedback to wind turbine wakes and air quality simulations. Level 2 courses are currently all held on-site at Leibniz University Hannover.
